With only eight days left to experience the Hey Sis… Exhibition that showcases the multifaceted essence of black women and sisterhood spanning from everyday to the extraordinary facets of our lifestyle. We are taking a moment to reflect on the beautiful moments that have made this exhibition special. Our curated collection showcased breath-taking pieces from talented Artists; Chimemelie Okafor, PIIIIRRE, Yinkore, Joy Adeola, Naychi, Simone Patricia, Zainab Goldenn, Percy Eriamiator that sparked meaningful conversation and inspired new perspectives. We had inspiring sessions with RADR Canada where our featured artists gave insights about their creative processes and techniques. Check out the videos here.
Our guests were captivated by artworks celebrating black womanhood, lifestyle and sisterhood.
We had live poetry performances that gave us chills by Mojisola Kadiri, and panel discussions hosted by Tosin Adeniyi of LearnwithTos on ‘Reimaging the Black Female Experience and Black Women Artists on the Rise’ discussed by Simone Patricia, Yinkore, & Naychi and ‘The Intersection of Identity: Black Womanhood in Art and The Black Woman’s Aesthetic’ discussed by Percy Eriamiator, Zainab Goldenn & Chimemelie Okafor that enlightened our guests and gave a deeper meaning to their experience.
At the opening, our guests were treated to private screenings of the Beyond the Mirror fashion documentary by Zainab Goldenn. The screening tickets, designed to recreate a cinematic atmosphere, added a personalized touch to the event. Director Zainab Goldenn also gave a brief presentation and answered questions from the audience.
Our Artist workshop held on September 13, had exhibiting artists; Chimemelie Okafor, Joy Adeola, Naychi, and Simone Patricia leading the hands-on inspiring collage workshop and sharing their expertise with our guests.
