Photography at its Peak: Christine Drouin's Lens on Light and Emotion
Christine's work explores light, texture, and fleeting moments, revealing atmospheres that evoke emotion and contemplation. Whether in nature or streets, she embraces authenticity, favouring a sincere, unaltered approach.
What does “MY VIEW, YOUR?” mean to you?
It means exactly what sharing photography is for me: I am exposing my vision, my viewpoint of different types of scenery. The immensity of nature inspires me to capture the human scale. I always wonder what people feel when looking at my photos.
Can you walk us through the artwork "The Child and the Twisted Tree"?
The Child and the Twisted Tree is a dynamic static image. I feel like the time has stopped and that we might be living in a dome. Nothing is staged, just a child enjoying the path in a giant green house. It looks like a faux decor, but it’s all real. What I wish the viewer sees is their child self wandering around in nature, no worries, just curiosity. I want them to feel calm but also playful, contemplating the ordinary.
Much of this exhibition explores the relationship between humans and the environment. How does your work engage with nature, space, or the world around you?
My work is mainly about humans and landscape, whether it's in a natural or urban scenery. I like to capture living moments, synchronicity of colours, perfect timing and scale. I am conscious about the surroundings, the alteration and the power of nature.
What kind of questions or conversations do you want your work to spark, especially in a group exhibition like this, where so many perspectives collide and coexist?
How do we feel about our places in the world? Are we taking the time to notice the little details, to feel the little things? What’s our impact on Earth? How small can we feel sometimes? We are absorbed by technology and forget to look around, be aware and appreciate the time and place we have in the world. What’s your insight about this?

If you had to describe your exhibited work in just three words, what would they be and why?
Authentic, Organic, Details
How does it feel to be part of a group exhibition like this one, sharing space, theme, and energy with other artists?
It is exciting and rewarding. Being part of a project whose name resonates with your work is inspiring. I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition come together, to have a new print, but also to see the curator's vision with all the talent in the room.
What’s next for you as an artist? Are there themes you’re beginning to explore, or directions you’re excited to grow into?
I am working on multiple long-term series at the moment, such as my Pink Building and All in Sync series. I’d love to do an art residency to work on a book project I have in mind; otherwise, being part of other inspiring exhibitions is absolutely on the list, aside from working with an ethical and sustainable brand.
By the end of 2025, I will participate in a book publication and exhibition in Italy. I plan to travel there for the event and return with new images for my portfolio.
