The Importance of a Catalogue
So you have attended an exhibition, it has ended, done and gone. Yet you still ache for just one more glance, one more visit. In my last post, I said to revisit shows as many times as you like; what happens when the show concludes? How do we go back when something has left us behind?

The Practice of Looking
Art requires an audience; therefore, do not put your feelings as secondary. The practice of looking is a skill. Honed over time with repeated practice. I have always wondered why people don’t revisit art shows.
Value your role as the audience, I would argue it is the best thing to be. As the critic, you have to decipher, cite, contextualize, and theorize the art. As the critic, you have to be in conversation with the ideas before and as they’re happening.
